Rosemary Collins, President
Rosemary Collins has been riding for 35 years, focusing on dressage and trail riding and privately rescuing horses and small animals since she was a teenager. She has successfully planned and executed fundraisers for other equine charities and has an extensive management background in private business.
Rosemary is a past President of the Lower Puget Sound Dressage Club and has fostered both dogs and horses for the local humane society. She currently has a Holsteiner gelding, a Hanoverian gelding and an OTTB (previous dressage partner currently retired.) She can be reached at rosemary@ponyuprescue.com. |

Chelsea Eykel, Vice President/Treasurer
Chelsea Eykel has been involved with animals professionally and personally for many years. It started in the 80's with riding A system Arabians, to managing breeding and boarding operations through the 90's with experience in Arabians, sport horses, and gaited horses. She then transitioned to veterinary practice management, both for equine and small animal practices. In early 2005 she became involved with equine rescue and graduated the Animal Control Officer Academy with a Washington State Criminal Justice Commission in 2006. She attended the academy as a private citizen sponsored by a horse rescue with the idea of education/prevention of the cruelty situations she was encountering through her work with horse rescue. She personally has rehabbed over 20 horses on her farm and has a special love for older retired horses. She hired on with King County as an Animal Control Officer in 2007. Beaver
Beaver the pony (shown at right) is the mascot of Pony Up Rescue. He can be identified by cute little ears and a fuzzy face, which hide a naughty pony soul. Beaver spends his days telling the big horses where to go and ensuring he is recognized as the King of the Pasture. He can be reached only with carrots or cookies! |
